Meet Our New (Reformulated!) RSO

With so many different variations of CBD out there, it can feel overwhelming to get to know unfamiliar products. If you've never used our RSO — known as Rick Simpson Oil — it's a concentrated cannabis oil chock full of potential therapeutic benefits. We'll break down a few FAQs later, but for now, we're excited to share our new RSO with you. We recently ditched our old materials to give you a plunger-style packaging material that feels a lot easier to use and measure. We also updated the RSO formula to make it 40% more potent with only full spectrum hemp oil and organic coconut oil. Here's everything you need to know about the new look.

RSO REFORMULATED

We surveyed a lot of our RSO customers and found a few pain points, so we set out to make our new oil more potent with fewer ingredients. We simplified it to nothing but pure full spectrum hemp oil and organic coconut oil. We also boosted the potency to ensure our customers can rely on it for strong, long-lasting relief. The new oil contains 400mg/mL, improving its potency from the original 100mg/mL.

We've concentrated the oil to 400 mg per mL CBD and modified the packages to be a bit smaller. The old oil shipped in sizes of 10 mL and 50 mL, and the new RSO comes in 2.5 mL and 10 mL. With our RSO being 40% stronger, you get a lot more CBD in less oil.

MASTERING YOUR RSO SERVING SIZE

Now that our RSO comes in a smaller package, we had to switch up how you measure your RSO. Measuring is essential to your overall experience, so it’s important to note that measurement lines have changed. Each line measures a tenth of a milliliter (mL) of RSO, which is equivalent to about 40mg of CBD. Here's a breakdown to simplify your serving size process:

  • Measure Your Serving: Our RSO comes with two plunger sizes: a small 2.5 mL plunger and a larger 10 mL plunger. While you can measure with the lines, you can also use the top of the plunger as a guide after you've squeezed out some oil. As a helpful visual aid, the back of the plungers are about the size of a thinly spread serving size, so the small plunger measures out to roughly 50mg, and the large one measures approximately 100mg.

  • Start Slowly: If you're new to RSO, we recommend beginning with a serving size of about 50mg-100mg of CBD. In terms of the plunger, this translates to between a tenth and two tenths of a mL. Remember, can also use the tops of the plungers as a guide.

  • Adjust for Tolerance: For those with higher CBD tolerances or greater relief needs, you might need a serving around twice the initial amount or a little more than two-tenths of a mL. You can always enjoy more as needed by starting small and working your way up until you reach the desired effect. CBD affects everyone differently, so it helps to keep a journal to keep track of your incremental increases until you find your sweet spot.

UNDERSTANDING RSO: BENEFITS, RISKS, AND USAGE TIPS

We've got a great article on all the science of RSO, but here's a little refresher. Rick Simpson Oil is a potent hemp extract known for its high concentration of CBD and other potentially therapeutic cannabinoids and terpenes. It's often used for its therapeutic effects that may help with chronic pain, inflammation, anxiety, and sleep.

RSO is usually the preferred choice for people who need intense relief since it tends to be more concentrated than other versions. Compared to oils and edibles, RSO's effects tend to come on a bit faster and last a little longer thanks to the higher concentration of terpenes and cannabinoids that contribute to an entourage effect.

RSO's potential benefits span from managing chronic pain to alleviating chemotherapy-induced nausea. However, it's important to keep in mind that, as a full-spectrum oil, it does contain a little bit of THC. While the level of THC in RSO varies from batch to batch, it comes out to less than 0.3%, so it's usually not enough to feel. If you're sensitive to THC, you may want to start slow, or use a THC-free CBD product instead. You can scan the QR code on the package to view batch test results to see the cannabinoid and terpene content of your specific product.

TIPS FOR USING RSO:

If you're ready to give the new formula a go, remember to follow the tips above, start low and go slow. RSO's potent effects may take time to gauge. Always talk to your doctor before integrating RSO into your wellness routine, especially if you're on medication. Remember that your results with RSO may vary, so patience is vital to finding your optimal serving and safely experiencing RSO's potential benefits.

To use it, you can take it sublingually by placing RSO under your tongue for rapid absorption. You can also measure out your serving and mix it into food or beverages. As a versatile oil, you can even smoke or vaporize it or use it to make homemade edibles, tinctures, topicals, and capsules.

Use the visual guides above to navigate your serving sizes confidently and enjoy stronger relief with less oil. We’re excited to share our new and improved RSO formula with you all and hope that you find it a helpful addition to your CBD regimen in providing pure, concentrated full spectrum relief.
